PRIVACY POLICY

Who we are

LaunchAdvisor is run by Launch Advisor LLC, 732 S 6th St Ste N, Las Vegas, NV 89101, USA. We're responsible for (the “controller” of) the personal information described here. For any privacy question or request, email info@launchadvisor.co.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and how you sign in (an email link, a password, or a Microsoft account). If you set a password, it goes straight to our sign-in provider, Supabase, and we never see it.
• Your launch workspace: quiz answers, project and business name, business type, location, checklist progress, journal entries, action packets you draft, and the deadlines on your compliance calendar.
• Your profile: display name, username, bio, location, website and social links, business details, badges, and any revenue milestones you log.
• Community activity: forum threads and replies, upvotes, direct messages, accountability group memberships and check-ins, cohort sign-ups, and tool reviews.
• AI Advisor chats: what you type into the AI Advisor and the answers it gives. See AI Advisor below.
• MeetMyCXO match requests: if you use /connect, your name, email, business name, revenue range, the help you need, your biggest challenge and your LinkedIn URL.
• Email settings:whether you've turned the weekly digest off.
• Affiliate clicks:when you click a partner link that goes through our redirect, the partner, the link, the time and, if you're signed in, your account ID.
• Usage and device data:pages you view, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, your IP address and your approximate location. Our hosting provider, our analytics tools and Google's ad tags collect this.
• Security data: a keyed hash of your IP address (not the address itself), used to limit how often the free tools and the AI Advisor can be called and to stop abuse.

Some things stay in your browser and never reach us unless you sign in, such as your quiz answers and checklist progress before you create an account. When you sign in, we copy that progress into your account. The Cookie Policy lists every cookie and browser storage item we use.

How we use it, and our legal bases

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the law asks us to name a legal basis for each use. Here's what we do and why:

• Run your account, save your progress, and tailor the checklist, guides and AI Advisor to your industry and state. Basis: providing the service you asked for (contract).
• Run the community, accountability groups and cohorts. Basis: contract.
• Pass your /connect request to the MeetMyCXO team. Basis: taking the steps you asked for (contract).
• Send emails tied to what you do, such as a welcome email, milestone notes, action packets you approve, and /connect confirmations. Basis: contract.
• Send the weekly digest. Basis: our legitimate interest in helping you keep your launch on track. You can turn it off at any time.
• Keep LaunchAdvisor secure, limit abuse and fix problems. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Measure which pages are usefulwith Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Use Google Analytics and advertising cookies.Basis: your consent where the law requires it, which you give or refuse in Google's consent message.
• Record affiliate clicks so we can see which partner links people use. Basis: legitimate interests.
• Meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests. Basis: legal obligation.

Emails, including the weekly digest

If you have an account, we send you a weekly digest on Mondays with your next checklist steps, upcoming deadlines and a benchmark with its source. The digest is on by default.You can turn it off in Settings, or with the unsubscribe link in any digest. That link works without signing in: it opens a page where you confirm with one button, and email apps that offer their own “Unsubscribe” button can unsubscribe you directly. Every digest shows our postal address.

We also send emails tied to things you do: a welcome email when you finish onboarding, a note when you log a revenue milestone, action packets you approve (sent only to your own email address), and a confirmation when you send a /connect request. We send email through Resend.

AI Advisor

The AI Advisor is the chat panel you can open on any page. When you use it:

• We send your message, the recent messages in that conversation, and context such as the page you're on and your industry and state to Anthropic, whose Claude models sort your question and write the answer. If you have Premium, we also send details from your workspace, such as your business type, stage and checklist progress.
• We store your conversations: your messages, the answers, the page you asked from, your industry and state if we know them, and your account ID if you're signed in. We delete conversations 90 days after the last message.
• When you open the advisor, we set a cookie called la_advisor_vid. It lasts 400 days. It lets us apply the free question limits and keep your conversations together.
• To limit abuse, we store a keyed hash of your IP address, made with a secret key that only our servers hold. We don't store the address itself. We delete these visitor records 30 days after your last visit.

Answers are general information, not legal, tax, financial or permit advice. Please don't type passwords, account numbers, government ID numbers or other sensitive details into the chat.

Other AI features

• Action packets: when you ask for one, we send your project name, business type, stage and checklist progress to Anthropic to draft it, and we save the draft in your account.
• Cost estimator: when you ask for an explanation, we send the inputs you chose (business type, size and state) and the resulting estimate to Google's Gemini.

Anthropic and Google process this information under their API terms to return a response.

The community and your public profile

• Forum posts are public.Threads, replies, and your community name, headline, stage, industry and avatar can be read by anyone, including people who aren't signed in, and search engines can index them. Your community name starts as your first name (or “Member”), and you can change it. On the site, upvotes appear only as totals.
• Your profile page is private by default.If you turn on “Public profile”, anyone can see it, with your display name and whatever you add, such as your bio, location, website and social links. Your business name and type appear only if “Show business details” is on, and your badges and launch date only if “Show launch progress” is on, which also lists you in the Launched Showcase once you finish. You can change these at any time on your profile page.
• Revenue milestones are private unless you choose Share publicly. Public milestones can appear on the community leaderboard with your display name, even if your profile is private. You can change this for each milestone when you log or edit it.
• Direct messages are visible only to you and the person you're messaging. Accountability groups show their name, goal and member count to anyone; check-ins are visible only to the members of that group. Tool reviews are public and show your display name.
• Some forum discussions and accountability groups are examples written by the LaunchAdvisor team to get conversations started. They're labeled Example, and the people in them aren't real.

MeetMyCXO match requests

If you ask to be matched with a fractional executive on /connect, we store your request and email it to the MeetMyCXO team, which is also run by Launch Advisor LLC, so they can reply to you. We also email you a confirmation.

Analytics

Google Analytics 4measures traffic and how visitors move through the site. When it's allowed to, it sets cookies. It also processes your IP address and device information. You can opt out on every site with Google's browser add-on, or read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Vercel Web Analyticscounts page views, referrers, and browser and device types. It doesn't set cookies.

Advertising: Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use these identifiers to show you personalized ads.

You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

Your cookie and ad choices

• In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland,Google's advertising and analytics cookies stay off unless you agree in Google's consent message. Until you choose, Google Analytics may send basic measurement data without cookies. Where that message applies to you, a “Privacy and cookie settings” link appears in the footer so you can change your answer at any time.
• Everywhere else, these cookies are on by default. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we turn off ad personalization for you automatically.
• In US states with privacy laws, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”link appears in the footer. It opens Google's opt-out, which stops ads on LaunchAdvisor from being personalized for you.

The Cookie Policy lists each cookie, who sets it, what it does and how long it lasts.

Selling and sharing under US state laws

We don't sell your personal information for money. But when ads on LaunchAdvisor are personalized, Google and its ad partners collect identifiers (such as cookie IDs and your IP address), browsing activity on this site and your approximate location, and use them to show you ads here and on other sites. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, and similar laws in other states, that can count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, or as a “sale”.

You can opt out in any of these ways:

• use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer;
• turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, which we honor as an opt-out;
• turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings.

In the last 12 months, we've collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (such as your email address, IP address and cookie IDs), internet activity, approximate location, business details you give us, and content you post or type. We get them from you, from your browser, and from Microsoft if you sign in with it. We use them for the purposes listed above. We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only as needed to run LaunchAdvisor:

• Vercel: hosting and Web Analytics
• Supabase: sign-in and database storage
• Microsoft: Entra ID sign-in, if you use it. Microsoft confirms who you are and shares your email address and basic profile with us. We never receive your Microsoft password.
• Anthropic: the AI Advisor and action packets
• Google: Gemini for the cost estimator, Google Analytics, and AdSense with its advertising partners
• Resend: email delivery
• Stripe: payments for Premium. Stripe collects your card details directly and we never see or store your full card number. We receive your Stripe customer ID, your subscription status and your billing dates.
• The MeetMyCXO team at Launch Advisor LLC: /connect requests you send

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's rights and safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business.

Affiliate links

Some links to tools and services are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you sign up. When you click one that goes through our redirect, we record the click (see “What we collect”) and send you on to the partner. We don't give partners your name or email. Once you're on their site, their own privacy policy applies. See our affiliate disclosure.

International transfers

LaunchAdvisor is run from the United States, and our providers store and process data there. If you use LaunchAdvisor from outside the United States, your information is transferred to the United States.

How long we keep it

• Account, workspace, profile and community data, affiliate clicks and /connect requests:for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete them, except forum threads and replies, which stay so conversations still make sense but show “Deleted member” instead of your name.
• AI Advisor conversations: deleted automatically 90 days after the last message, or sooner when you delete your account.
• AI Advisor visitor records and question counters: deleted automatically 30 days after they were last used. The count of free questions on an account is kept until the account is deleted.
• Rate-limit counters: short counters, keyed by a hash of your IP address, that each cover a window of one minute to one hour. We delete them automatically within a few days of the window ending, and always within 30 days.
• Analytics and advertising data:according to Google's and Vercel's retention settings.
• Browser storage: stays on your device until you clear it or it expires (see the Cookie Policy).

Deleted data can stay in our database provider's backups for a short time until those backups are replaced. We may keep some records longer where the law requires it.

Your rights and choices

In the app you can:

• view and edit your profile and workspace;
• keep your profile private or make it public, and choose whether to show business details, launch progress and each milestone;
• turn the weekly digest off in Settings;
• download a copy of your data (a JSON file) in Settings;
• delete your accountin Settings. You type DELETE to confirm, and we delete your account and data right away, as described in “How long we keep it”. It can't be undone.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to opt out of sale or sharing, and to withdraw consent. For anything you can't do in the app, email info@launchadvisor.cofrom the address on your account. We may need to confirm it's you before we act. We'll respond within the time the law requires. You can use an authorized agent where the law allows it.

We won't treat you differently for using these rights. If you're in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

LaunchAdvisor is for adults starting a business. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also tell you in the product or by email.
